THE WONDER OF NATURE
Take a moment to be in the presence of nature, as often as you can.
Welcome to My Wellness and Personal Development Page ⁘
My journey into personal well being has been brewing for many years, but it was during the first UK lockdown that I really began to awaken to my life’s purpose and discover who I really was. I have embarked on a deep journey into my own mind control and spiritual awakening and want to share some of the resources that have taught me some of the greatest lessons so far.
As for many, the pandemic made me take a much needed break from the fast paced, busy London life and retreat home to my family’s farm in Cumbria to spend time with my loved ones and importantly, to spend time reconnecting with nature. I only realised how exhausted I was by my former hectic lifestyle when everything came to a halt in March.
The time I spent at home on the farm presented me with an opportunity to slow down, get quiet enough to connect with my intuition and discover what I really want in life and what was no longer serving me. It made me question many things and realise many things too.
One of the things which really helped my wellness development was Oprah Winfrey’s series of wellness webinars called ‘Oprah’s Your Life in Focus’ which opened my eyes to a healthier way of living and lit the spark for discovering a more balanced way of life.
Eckhart Tolle’s book ‘A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose’ is one of the books that has changed my life in many ways. It opened my eyes to the power of the ego and he has given me insight into who and what we really are: Consciousness. There is a wonderful podcast where Oprah Winfrey discusses each chapter with Eckart Tolle about ‘A New Earth’ and I highly recommend listening to it as you read the book (if you choose).
Below are some of the resources I have discovered so far, I still have many more to find… The list is ever growing and I will continue to update as I continue to find. ⁘

DAILY RITUALS
Make time each day to practice:
🤍 Self love
If you need some inspiration then have a read of Kamal Ravikant’s book Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It.
🤍 Visualisation
The first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes of your day will determine how the rest of your day and the day ahead goes. Take this time to visualise your life and how you want it to be. In the evening, visualise yourself getting up the next day and moving through your day with Calm, Balance, Stillness and Ease (inspired by Jay Shetty’s book Think Like a Monk)
🤍 Heart of the Rose
Have a fresh rose and at the same time each day for 30 days take 10-20minutes to stare at the rose and focus all your thoughts solely on it. If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to the rose – it’s scent, shape, colour, what it represents etc… This exercise will help you to focus your thoughts on one thing at a time and is a great way to train your mind, especially if yours is a busy one! Inspired by Robin Sharma’s book The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari
🤍 Meditation
Making time each day to meditate has dramatically improved my life. I have had some really powerful breakthroughs and inspiration through my meditation practice. There are lots of resources online as well as classes to help you get the most out of your meditations. I would recommend the following books/audio books: Robin Sharma’s The Monk Who Sold his Ferrari and Jay Shetty’s Think Like a Monk if you would like some useful tips to help you establish your own routine. Deepak Chopra also does an incredible 21 day meditation challenge which is available on YouTube.
🤍 Yoga & Exercise
It is a well known fact that moving your body is good for the mind and spirit as well as the body. Getting out for a brisk walk in nature first thing always sets me up for the day. Yoga is another practice that has really helped my well being in general as it not only stretches and strengthens the body, but offers time to reflect and set intentions for your day/week ahead. Upward Frog Yoga is a wonderful community both in person and online if you would like a recommendation for places to practice and develop your skills.
🤍 Nutrition
Having a healthy, balanced diet is always going to be great for your energy levels, sleep and overall health. There are so many resources out there to help you find what works well for you, but I would suggest that if you are struggling with eating fresh and healthy foods, start to keep a mood diary and document how the processed, sugary foods make you feel. Acknowledgement is the key to change. Once you know what foods make you feel light and energised, you will want to eat more of them and begin to let go of the need to eat sugary, heavy foods that will only make you feel more tired and less motivated. I have sought the help of an experienced nutritionist after many years of trying to figure everything out by myself. If you are struggling and want to make a big change in this area of your life, I would suggest seeking help from someone who knows about nutrition and who can really help design a food plan that is suited to you.
